In Greene County district court Devonte Tindell Edwards, 19, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment March 9 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- first offense. He was placed on informal probation for one year and he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. A judgment was entered for a $315 civil penalty with a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Bradley Keith Langfitt, 47, of Dana, possession of methamphetamine- first offense; Sean Robert McKeage, 39, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense; James Harris, 31, of Woodward, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; Lucas Fulton Ausberger, 18, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense; Michael Ivan Venteicher, 60, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine- first offense and possession of methamphetamine- first offense; and Jackie D. Cram, 23, of Jefferson, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for May 8 in every case.
Cases were initiated as follows: Kayleigh Christine Harrah, 21, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense, and possession of methamphetamine- first offense; Chad Lee Ferguson, 45, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault- second offense; Amber Marie Benavides, 25, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated- first offense; Amanda Jo Goodpaster, 30, of Grand Junction, assault on persons in certain occupation causing bodily injury (two counts) and assault on person in certain occupation; and Bradlee Gene Beadle, 47, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness.
